Custom Playing Cards for Cody’s Wish Non Profit

Recently I got an email from Misty Dennis – the mother of Cody Dennis.

My name is Misty Dennis and I, along with my husband, started a non-profit called Cody’s Wish in January of this year. The non-profit is in honor of our son who we lost last October, at the age of 14, to Osteosarcoma, which is a type of bone cancer. My son fought a 10 month battle at Seattle Children’s Hospital, and if he won that battle he wanted to go around to different children’s hospitals and tell his story, and bring presents to the kids being treated there. My husband and I are trying to fulfill his wish and we would love to order some custom playing cards with our logo on it, to pass out at Seattle Children’s Hospital. We are going there, from our home in Alaska, for our very first fundraiser on August 11, and will be visiting the hospital while there for the fundraiser. We have a …website you can check out at www.codyswish.com.  We are running Cody’s Wish on what we had left of donations to Cody while he was still here with us, and we are running out of that money quickly as we pay for a website and promotional materials. I was wondering if your company offers discounts to non-profits, or sponsorships of any kind. We could put your logo and advertisement on our website and I foresee custom playing cards being something that will be a big hit at all children’s hospitals and something that will be ordered on a continual basis as the kids come and go through the hospital.

We wound up running the decks at our discounted rate for non profits –  and shipping them in time for the event planned at Seattle Children’s hospital.
While I wish we could afford to give decks for free to deserving causes like this, we do our best to accommodate the client’s needs while at the same time covering our costs.  The real payment on jobs like this are the emails we receive from the clients – and the knowledge that our playing cards are doing something to help the cause.

“They got to my friends house in perfect time and everyone absolutely loved them!!  We put out some of them for the fundraiser race on Saturday and they were a big hit there, and we took the rest of them to the hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. Thank you so much for everything you did to get them printed, packaged and shipped in time for this very important event–words cannot properly express our thanks to you. An image of this full color custom playing card deck – with the Cody’s wish logo are below.  The cards were manufactured on casino quality stock and packaged in white window boxes.  The turnaround time on these cards was about 5-7 business days.
