The Rise of Educational Playing Cards
In the past few years, in our capacity as a manufacturer of custom playing cards, we have noticed a rather significant rise in the number of “inventors” of educational playing card games. The inventors range from experienced school teachers and University Professors to regular people who have simply come up with a great idea. As for categories – the cards can range from Basic Geography, Science, Math, History, Reading and Spelling – all the way to advanced subjects like Chemistry, Virology and Linguistics. The variety and depth of these New Age Educational Playing Cards is quite compelling. Although I am not an inventor myself (“Yet” – I keep thinking – that big idea will come someday but not “Yet”) – our clients are quite proficient at inventing. In fact many of them have more than one game- they often create several simultaneously. For some of them it is a process that has taken 20 years. For others – they come up with an idea and move on it right away.
Our job here at Ad Magic is to make the inventor’s dream a reality. To take the chicken scratch and make it artwork. To take the idea and make it a product – on a shelf- for retail sale. We deliver the complete package- ready to stock on a store shelf – ready to be purchased by the public. I should mention here that we sign many non disclosures to set our clients at ease. We also brainstorm with some of our clients to assist them in developing successful and realistic marketing plans. This ensures that their card games will sell when they deliver – and not sit around waiting for a marketing plan to be developed after the fact.
Our prototype service for creators of Educational Playing Cards allows the inventor to test a small run of cards or to photograph product shots for presale purposes – while waiting for the larger print shipment to come in. Prototypes can include custom boxes, rules sheets and specialized pieces, as well as the custom playing cards that are the cornerstone of the game.
