Well once a year we get to run a great special and now is the time!  Foil stamp playing cards are on sale again for cheap (an oxymoron quality cheap custom playing cards) and you can order as few as 50 decks!!!  There are over 20 colors standard for the backs and about 20 different foil colors to decorate the backs with.  For custom wedding playing cards they make an elegant favor and come in so many colors they can satisfy almost any bride’s color scheme.  For parties and proms – the 50 piece minimum works really well.  This special ends in April so now is the time to get them.

Here are some pics of the great colors available.

Personalized playing cards make some of the greatest impact when they are beautiful. Some of these foil and back combinations are simply striking and even with a lousy design they still  look great.   Navy and silver – black with silver – black with gold – black with red and silver is actually stunning – silver on silver is a great look and one of my favorites is simply the shiny gold on white. Picture that for a for a golden anniversary party favor for a 50th anniversary .

The important thing to remember is that the image has to be something that can be created as a vector or line image in black and white so that a hot stamp die can be made of the image.  The die is mounted to a press and the blank card is passed under it.  It is called Hot Stamping because the process heats the foil at the point of impact. The heat allows the foil color to release from its plastic carrier and get affixed through a combination of heat and pressure to the card backs.  This process permanently bonds the foil to the card – and because of the chemical make up of the foil and the card it is a bond that is never broken.  Translated – this imprint is not like a cheap screen printed mug.  It will never come off.  How do I know so much about this stuff. Well, that is a story for another day. let’s just say I know a lot about foil because of my background with affixing holographic foils to plastic credit cards. My first job in this industry was for Emeloid – Secur-Image Technologies – which was a company that manufactured credit cards like Visa – Mastercard – Discover Card and Amex for banks all over the nation.  Speaking of holographic foils – some of these playing card hot stamp foil colors  come in holographic foils too at a slightly extra charge in case you want to add just a little more Zing to your card backs.
